Christophe Roy is an accomplished cellist who studied under Paul Boufil, Pierre Penassou, and Maurice Gendron. He co-founded Ensemble Aleph in 1983 and frequently collaborates with leading contemporary music ensembles. A passionate advocate for contemporary music, he is a favored interpreter of composers like Xenakis and Kagel. Roy teaches at the École nationale de musique d’Évry, where he founded the Contemporary Music Practice Center in 2002. His recordings, including a solo CD, have received critical acclaim.
