Born in Brazzaville in 1940, where he was assassinated in 1972, François BOUKAKA, known as Franklin, was a committed activist, an African icon of protest songs. His career culminated in 1971 when the Sonodisc label had the idea of producing the album Le Bûcheron, bringing together Franklin BOUKAKA and the great jazz musician Manu DIBANGO.
