Sam MANGWANA was born in Kinshasa in 1945 to Angolan parents exiled in Congo. Nicknamed “The Prophet”, he made his debut as a Congolese rumba musician in Tabu Ley ROCHEREAU’s orchestra, then moving on to join Franco Luambo, before founding his own musical ensembles.
